RVCE Admission Procedure 2026–27
RVCE fills seats through multiple admission categories. Here’s how each route works:
KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test)
The primary route for Karnataka domicile students.
- Conducted by KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority)
- Seats allotted through centralised government counselling based on KCET rank
- Students must have passed 2nd PUC with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- Karnataka domicile and eligibility as per KEA norms required
COMEDK UGET
Open to students from across India.
- Conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka
- Merit-based seat allotment through COMEDK counselling rounds
- 12th / 2nd PUC with PCM required
- One of the most competitive routes into RVCE — especially for CSE and allied branches
Management Quota
A fixed percentage of seats filled directly at the institution level.
- Admission is outside the government counselling process
- Students must have a valid KCET 2026 / COMEDK 2026 / JEE Mains 2026 score
- Same degree, same campus, same placements — no academic distinction
- Seats are limited and allotted on a first-come, first-served basis
NRI Quota
Designated seats for NRI candidates and NRI-sponsored students.
- Separate fee structure applicable
- Requires valid entrance exam scores and NRI documentation
- Admission confirmed directly through the institution
Eligibility Criteria
- 10th Std: Minimum 70% in Science and Mathematics subjects separately
- 11th Std: Minimum 65% in Maths and Physics subjects separately
- 12th Std: Minimum 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects separately (if results are announced)
- Must have appeared for KCET 2026 / COMEDK 2026 / JEE Mains 2026
- Candidates from boards other than Karnataka must obtain an equivalence certificate from UGC, New Delhi — details at https://equivalence.ugc.ac.in/
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there any difference in the degree for different quota admissions? No. Every student — regardless of admission category — receives the same VTU-affiliated degree from RVCE with identical academic and placement access.
Which branches are in highest demand? Computer Science and Engineering, CSE (AI & ML), CSE (Data Science), and CSE (Cyber Security) consistently close first across all admission categories.
When does the admission window open? Typically after KCET and COMEDK results are announced. Early inquiry is recommended as seats fill quickly.
Is hostel available for all students? Yes. Hostel and transportation fees are separate from tuition and will be communicated during the admission process.
